Alena Beldová
Born: 28.8.1955 Prague

• 1970-1974 High technical school of Textile in Prague
• 1979-1985 University of applied art in Prague / prof. B.Felcman /

After graduating from university, where I studied art, I devoted most of my attention to textile design. I used to cooperate with several Czech factories, including fabric for a large printing factory in Austria for four years. Meanwhile, I was also painting.
I visited Brittany for the first time in 1999. Its wild beauty inspired me to paint landscapes. I sketch the scenery outside, in the nature I am drawing with
aquarelles and pastels, then I paint the larger pictures in my studio. I associate my paintings with my favorite places. Resently, I have been inspired by Czech landscapes.
I taught an art school in Prague ten years and devoted to my own work the entire time.
For instance, for several years, I was a member of art group Žararaka. I took part in many exhibitons a symposia in Czech and abroad.
My work is displayed in private collections both in this country and abroad, as well as, in collections of the Art Museum of the Nord. In resent years,
I have presented my paintings primarily in solo exhibitions.
